Abstract

Dear readers,

The 5th International Early Childhood Education Congress was hosted by  the Gazi University on October 18-21, 2017 with the theme of “Strong start for every children: Cultural diversity and inclusive education in early childhood.”   A total of 875 people, 430 of whom were listeners, were registered to the congress and there were 428 oral presentations. Through the keynote speeches, panels, workshops and parallel sessions early childhood education was discussed multi-dimensionally and discussions were carried out in order to identify problems and propose solutions at the congress.

Within the scope of the congress, two invited speakers shared their valuable knowledge and research each day. The panelists following the keynote speakers, discussed the topic of academic qualification on the first day and the topic of teaching in preschool integration classrooms on the second day. We aimed to share with you the final declaration of the congress and the keynote and panel speeches as well as the presentation papers that passed the blind peer review process for publication in the 5th International Early Childhood Education Congress Special Issue of the  Journal of Early Childhood Studies (JECS).

As the editors of the 5th International Early Childhood Education Congress Special Issue of the  Journal of Early Childhood Studies (JECS), we would like to thank to the keynote speakers, panelists, and all of the academicians contributed to the congress through workshops and oral presentations and of course to those who attended as listeners. We also would like to thank all the academicians who contributed to the publication process as peer reviewer and the staff members of the Journal of Early Childhood Studies (JECS).
